Serving Size: 1/2 pear or apple

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium pears or apples (any variety), halved
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon Ceylon cinnamon (and more for sprinkling)
  • 1 piece fresh ginger, sliced thin (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom or 10 pods

Directions:

  1. In an 8×8 glass or ceramic baking dish, place pears or apples cut side down, add 4 cups water with the cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger (if using). Bake at 350°F for about an hour or until tender. Sprinkle with additional Ceylon cinnamon and serve.
